DON’T TOUCH THESE BEAUTIES [☠️]

Oleander, a popular shrub plant in Florida. Widely used in landscaping, especially on commercial and public property, in medians, and at resorts. They thrive in warmer climates, have beautiful blooms nearly all year, and don’t require a lot of care.

The bad, the entire plant and flowers are highly toxic and poisonous to humans and pets; red, pink, yellow or white, single or double blossoms. So if you live here or are visiting, watch that you, your family and pets do not mess with it. Wash and rinse well if you come in contact. Definitely do not let your dog walk around the plant, and avoid eye contact! Don’t let your children try to smell the flowers!

The plant is actually used by Pharmaceutical companies.

Not sure why it is planted at the beaches where families walk and run by them frequently. Just takes seconds for a child to be attracted to a pretty flower and try to pluck one.

Most symptoms from oleander poisoning are cardiac and gastrointestinal in nature and appear 4 hours after ingestion.

It can be fatal!
