There are a million books on how to do it correctly, and I haven’t read a single one of them.

I’m more a figure-it-out-as-you-go-along kinda guy.

Because practical experience is better than book learning.

Hence, my drawing on personal events from my own life and childhood when it came to handing down punishment for my daughter after she did something untoward.

I think I did a pretty good job of handling the situation.
