613 commands? Really? / WWY L87

I’m a Christian. I keep the Torah (not perfectly). I find that most bible believers have been the victim of some really bad teachings and traditions regarding their understanding of the Torah. Some of you may immediately discount anything I have to say/write after that opening statement.

But I challenge you to challenge your current beliefs? And I know it’s really hard to challenge those foundational beliefs that you’ve held onto for so long. And why do I know? Because I had to challenge myself in the same way.

Many people consider the Torah an ancient relic - those 613 commands. But is it? Yeshua/Jesus Himself never contradicted the Torah. But do we have to keep it? What does the Bible actually say (which may very well contradict what is taught in your church).

The Bible says the Torah will be ‘resurrected’ in the future. So don’t you think you should perhaps give it some more consideration?

But what’s the point of the Torah? Didn’t Yeshua/Jesus die for our sins? Aren’t we supposed to be living by ‘The Spirit’ these days? Aren’t the commandments just for the Jews?
