Genesis 30 – Verses 11-15 - Rachel Gives Birth to Joseph and Jacob Prospers

In this chapter, we witness an intense rivalry between Rachel and Leah over childbearing. Rachel, desperate for children, gives her servant Bilhah to Jacob. Leah does the same with her servant Zilpah. Through these women, Jacob fathers several more sons. God finally remembers Rachel, and she gives birth to Joseph, who will later play a crucial role in Israel’s history.

Meanwhile, Jacob negotiates with Laban and uses wisdom—and divine favor—to grow his flocks and increase in wealth.
