A few months ago, a dear friend ask me “Have you found your voice?”
Some of you may not know it, but I used to be a vocalist in various bands, secular and Christian.
Well somewhere along the way, I stopped singing. I started listening to audiobooks or podcasts instead of the radio. I got into politics, conspiracy theories, and revealing truth. I also put a lot of my time into knowing who God is and who I am to Him.
These things took most of my attention.
That prompting from my friend got me to thinking about singing again. Believe me when I tell you if you don’t use it, you lose it. Now that’s not to say you can’t carry a tune anymore, it just means you lose the ability to transform your voice into an instrument, capable of extraordinary ranges. This brings me to the video. I decided I would take an old spiritual hymn and make it kind of bluesy. The Blues have always had a special place in my heart.
I let my best friend listen to it before it was finished and she said “It seems cheesy”. I am now taking applications for a new best friend. LOL As my momma used to say “If you can’t say anything nice, please don’t say anything at all.”
