MICAH was a contemporary to Isaiah and Hosea. Micah directed his preaching about Israel and Jerusalem to the world. The theme of his straightforward and forceful preaching was the judgment of the LORD God upon the wickedness of Israel and Jerusalem. Micah exposed the idolatry of the religious leaders and the covetousness of the public officials. Greedy bankers and judges confiscated property unjustly (2:1-3; 3:8-12), the religious leaders were apostates (3:5-11; 5:12-15), and the businessmen attained wealth deceitfully (6:10-12).

Doctrinally, Micah prophesied of the Great Tribulation (3:1-4; 4:11; 5:3, 8; 7: 14) and the workers of iniquity (Job 31:3; Micah 7:1-6). Micah also wrote of the greatest doctrine of the Scriptures when the Lord Jesus Christ will rule during the Millennium (4:1-7). Micah means Who is like Jehovah? The book contains 7 chapters and 105 verses.
