The loggerhead sea turtle is a carnivorous marine reptile with a large head and powerful jaws for crushing shellfish. Adults have reddish-brown shells up to 45 inches long and weigh 170–500 lbs. They have yellow undersides and strong jaw muscles for crushing crustaceans like horseshoe crabs and conchs. Habitat: Loggerheads live in tropical and temperate regions of the Atlantic, Pacific, and Indian Oceans.
