In this video, I take the ARealMe Autism Spectrum Test, an online quiz that measures traits like fixations, social difficulties, and sensory issues. It was interesting, surprising—and ultimately, a reminder that self-diagnosis should be taken with caution.

I answered questions about things like social challenges, anxiety, noise sensitivity, and repetitive behaviors. The test was fun and insightful—but in the end, it was just that: an online screening tool, not a professional diagnosis.

These quizzes can hint at ASD traits, but they’re only about 80% accurate at best—and without context, they can mislead .

You might identify with some traits—but that doesn’t mean it’s autism. Many other conditions mimic similar symptoms .

These tests can be a helpful starting point if you suspect something might be going on.

But thinking, “Yep, I’m autistic” based solely on a quiz? That can be a slippery slope. It might prevent getting the support, accommodations, or clarity that come from a proper professional assessment.

Fun and illuminating: I learned more about my own habits and triggers—and hey, I’m now aware of my sensory highs and social quirks.

Far from definitive: This isn’t a medical diagnosis—just a data point.

Next steps: If you score high or strongly relate, consider speaking to a clinician. That’s how you get an official diagnosis, help, and any needed resources—not by trusting a quiz alone.
