So my youtube feed tells me that the language #afrikaans is 100 years old this year. Really, we're counting it from 1925? I'd have thought something that started in the 1600's would already be much older. And I think it is. Probably there was some kind of declaration in 1925 or something. I'd investigage, except I'm really making this video to enjoy some #nostalgia . I saw someone else make such a video in honor of Afrikaans, celebrating all their old favorites from TV and music. Their list was nice but I have my own list of shows that I enjoyed in Afrikaans, that have been living rent free in my head.
