Iran will likely launch retaliatory strikes. (They have to “save face.”)
These will most likely be on US bases in the region.

BUT: they did the same thing in 2020 when Trump kiIIed Soleimani. Iran intentionally targeted vacant buildings so that no U.S. troops were kiIIed.

This gave both sides the chance to de-escalate. Iran did their “retaliation,” and no lives were lost, so we did not need to hit them again.
