How I Built My Own Portable Battery Box!

If you want a 12V battery box for your portable ham radio activities such as POTA or SOTA but the cost of a pre-built one or the components and effort to make your own is too much, here is a quick and low-cost option. Instead of buying components and drilling out the box then wiring everything up, just leave everything inside the ammo can. Lower cost, less time and the ammo can maintains its water proofing.

You can also change the capabilities of the box as you never modify the ammo can itself potentially causing limitations to future options.
