Brenna [Reala Ace]

Brenna is the original Slavic name for the capital of the Stodoran tribe. It was one of the strongest Slavic tribes in the Elbe and Havel basins. Unfortunately, it was conquered by Brandenburg and Albert the Bear. Whose coat of arms is the symbol of Berlin.

Brenna was surrounded by water on all sides and reaching it required knowledge of the lake directions surrounding the 7 lakes.
During the Slavic uprisings, 200 ships were gathered on these lakes as a military force in 983 year.

Kopanica is today the part of Berlin (Köpenick) which also was very important place for Slavic History.

Brenna (later also called Brennabor, Polish hist. Branibór[1], German Brandenburg) - a Slavic fortress on the Havel in today's Brandenburg, the central stronghold of the Stodoran tribe. The settlement was founded in the 8th century, in the 9th century it was surrounded by a rampart, it was regularly expanded, gradually transforming into an urban center.

Presumably Drogowit took refuge there from Charlemagne's army in 789. In written documents it was first mentioned in 928 in the form of Brennaburg (a Slavic-German hybrid). Besieged in the winter of 928–929 by the German king Henry I the Fowler. From 948 the seat of a bishop (one of the first two in Polabia). In 983, during the uprising of the Wielecki tribes, Brenna was conquered and the bishops were expelled. In 991, Mieszko I took part in the expedition and siege of Brenna by Emperor Otto, and in 992 Bolesław the Brave supported the emperor with his warriors.

In the years 1153–1157, the stronghold of Prince Jaksa of Kopanica, a vassal of Poland. The battles for Brenna between the Slavs and the Germans lasted intermittently until 1157 (among others, in 1100 it was conquered by Lothair Udo III, Margrave of the Northern March), when it was finally conquered. From 1157 the center of Brandenburg, in the second half of the 12th century the capital of the Brandenburg (Northern) March, eventually lost its importance to Berlin.
