There is no such thing as a light year.

The Stars in the night sky are shining live from exactly where they are. There is no delay. You either see a light source exactly where it is in real time because it is powerful enough for you to see where it is, or you don’t see it because it is not powerful enough to be seen. Light does not travel after the initial on set, so it won’t be turning up the day after tomorrow. You either see it or you don’t. There is no such thing as a light year.
