3 dead after Tornado sweeps through North Dakota

Powerful storms and a tornado swept through parts of North Dakota, Minnesota, and Wisconsin, killing three people and causing widespread damage, including at Bemidji Regional Airport.

Winds reached up to 106 mph, knocking out power and prompting a disaster declaration in North Dakota.

Nearly 150 million Americans were also under heat advisories or warnings, with some areas experiencing temperatures 20°F above normal.

Cooling centers opened in cities like Omaha and Minneapolis, while the heatwave spread eastward, the Associated Press has reported.

Two MLB players showed signs of heat illness during games as extreme weather continues to impact much of the U.S.
