Republican senators are calling for an end to federal funding for sanctuary cities like Los Angeles, accusing them of obstructing federal immigration enforcement.

Senators Katie Britt, Bernie Moreno, Rick Scott, and others told Fox News Digital that cities refusing to cooperate with ICE promote lawlessness and endanger public safety.

They urged Congress to use the “power of the purse” to penalize such jurisdictions, Fox News has reported.

Some, like Sen. Roger Marshall, even linked sanctuary policies to recent unrest. While Democrats like Sen. Tim Kaine downplayed the issue, Republicans argue that cities ignoring federal law should face consequences.
