Bathwater and glass boxes: A sad future for all.

Sydney Sweeney’s “Bathwater Bliss” soap—a limited edition bar made with actual bathwater—sold out in seconds and is now reselling for up to $2,000 on eBay. What’s truly troubling is how eager men lined up to buy her used bathwater, as if proximity to a star justifies self-degradation.

This isn’t empowering. It’s desperate. A bizarre spectacle where fandom eclipses dignity. We’ve seen similar patterns before: online creators trading intimacy for clicks, and fans trading money for scraps of manufactured celebrity closeness.

Let’s call it what it is—craving validation by consuming someone’s bathwater is a confession of deep insecurity. It’s the antithesis of self-respect and personal agency, yet it’s being applauded in the name of ‘collectibles.’
