As you have probably noticed, stock prices around the world have plummeted massively in recent days. If you believe the advocated mainstream media, this can be attributed solely to the economic incompetence of the current US president, who is shaking up our wonderfully globalized world with his measures. But of course, as is so often the case, this portrayal is only a fraction of the story currently unfolding on the world stage. First of all, it must be said that it is anything but surprising that Trump is currently imposing high trade tariffs on imports into the USA.

Since the start of the US election campaign over two years ago, he has repeatedly made it clear that he wants to return the United States, at least as far as its federal budget is concerned, to the era before the First World War and before the founding of the Federal Reserve, when the US government still supported itself to the extent of over 90 percent via import tariffs. Trump even planned to completely abolish the income tax, which was introduced along with the central bank in 1913.
