RAEL, the last of the prophets : Atheism
The Raelian Movement invites you to discover one of the greatest deceptions in human history in Episode 7 of the thought-provoking and enlightening docuseries Rael: 50 Years of Spiritual Revolution, titled “Atheism.”
This compelling installment unpacks a central pillar of the Raelian philosophy: the deconstruction of the God myth and the emancipation of humanity from superstition and primitive beliefs—barriers that have long obstructed societal progress and human happiness.
Contrary to popular belief, there is no god. The so-called deities referenced in sacred texts worldwide were highly advanced human beings from another planet—extraterrestrials who created humanity in their image thousands of years ago. These beings, referred to in the Book of Genesis as the Elohim, are not divine entities to be worshipped, but advanced men and women who love us and care for us deeply, and invite us to take full responsibility for our actions—on every level of our existence.
“Belief in a god is a poison, responsible for some of the greatest crimes and bloodiest wars in human history,” says Ya Boni, Raelian Guide featured in this episode, as he recalls the suffering his people endured from atrocities committed in the name of an imaginary deity. “The Raelian Movement is the only religion that actively stands against blind faith in a supernatural being.”
For over 50 years, Rael—founder and spiritual leader of the Raelian Movement—has spoken out against the harmful impact of traditional religions, particularly on children, who are indoctrinated from a very early age with notions of sin and guilt.
“These teachings should be considered criminal. Only our religion teaches peace, love, harmony, and breaks the false belief in a supernatural being, along with the fear and guilt it brings. Life is to be celebrated, free from the dangerous myth of a god... who does not exist.”
The episode includes a profoundly moving moment for Raelians: Rael’s 2004 speech in Rome, delivered beneath the statue of Giordano Bruno—the visionary philosopher burned alive by the Catholic Church in 1600, now honored as a symbol of free thought and resistance to religious oppression and intolerance.
“Remembering Giordano Bruno is a moral duty, just as we remember concentration camps, racism or the persecution of religious minorities today,” Rael stated. “He was burned alive by a religion claiming to teach love, yet guilty of crimes against humanity. One that persecuted, tortured, and murdered thousands of men and women for simply being different. And if it could, it would do it again. We must remember him, and make sure he did not die in vain.”
It is time to move beyond religious obscurantism and irrational beliefs and embrace a new form of humanism—one grounded in understanding, love, freedom, and an atheistic spirituality aligned with the scientific awakening of the third millennium.
