Two Kroger locations to close; a local employee speaks out

On Friday, June 20, 2025, the United Food and Commercial Workers Local 400 Union confirmed to News 5 that the Abingdon and Kingsport Kroger locations will be closing. Workers say they're devastated by the news. 60 Kroger stores across the country are set to close, according to the company.
