How to setup a custom screened size recording background canvas in OBS studio.
If you need to create a recording canvas or background that doesn't appear to be available in the resolution drop down menu, what do you do?

Well i didn't realise that you can manually override the resolution setting, by just typing in it in yourself.
So for example you have a 1440p monitor but want to record some footage or content in 4K you cant select higher than 2560x1440 in the drop down menu.
Type in the 4K resolution of 3840x2160 and like magic you have a 4K canvas.
This also works for creating Ultrawide resolutions and many custom sizes.
