Gaston Naessens was a biologist researcher engineer who developed a unique optical instrument, the Somatoscope, capable of observing unstained living matter, allowed him to discover a new particle alive in fresh human blood, that he called the somatid . Thanks to the discovery of the somatid, at the origin of degenerative diseases, and its importance in many biological functions such as cell division and the transmission of genetic characteristics, he was able to develop the somatidian theory and to bring new responses to diseases.
