I’m critical of Twitch’s move—it stifles creativity and penalizes the very communities it depends on. Meanwhile, I support platforms like YouTube and Kick that embrace multistreaming and uplift creators without hostile restrictions.

Twitch hasn’t banned multistreaming outright, but has begun enforcing simulcasting rules: warnings, suspensions, and in one case, a ban for shared chat embeds or links on profiles .

Zach shows examples of creators who got flagged for merging chats or promoting alternate platforms—practices Twitch previously tolerated.

This feels like Twitch is punishing creators for seeking more choices—restricting how they engage audiences across platforms.

Both platforms offer built-in support for multistreaming—promoting inclusivity and ease.
