Troxel v. Granville (2000) Supreme Court decision, our state Constitution, and laws like FS 61.13 (child custody) and FS 787.03 (interference with custody) affirm that parents have a fundamental right to be involved in their children’s lives, always with the child’s best interests in mind.

But even with these protections, too many parents are still being pushed out of their children’s lives.
