Christianity has created a very different view of prophecy than what we read from what we call the Old Testament. The English word prophecy is used only six times in reference to translating the Hebrew with two different words. The word prophet is used 172 times in the Old Testament to describe a person, which is the Hebrew word “nabiy” pronounced naw-bee’. This is to describe one who is inspired, but inspired how and by what?
