Can Notepad++ become your next virus?

As noted, Notepad++ is pretty popular among just about everyone. I've used it and some has a lot of people I know. It has been around for ages and has been doing the old stuff for a long time, too. The old stuff came to a head as some things are vulnerable and that sucks. So due to library hijacking, the installer needed to be patched, so an attacker can't get SYSTEM level priviledges on your computer.
