👉Elisha was offered a room to live in 2 Kings 4:8-18 and so were apostles in the command of Luke 9:1-6. Christ did not worry so much about such things. People want to build a kingdom on earth which is against christ words "dont build a kingdom on earth" in Matt 6:19-21

▶️The disciples focused on prayer & the word:
🎺Acts 6:2-4 "Choose 7 men from among you who are known to be full of the Spirit & wisdom to give our attention to prayer & the ministry of the word.”

▶️The Call of God
🎺Luke 9:1-6 Christ said take nothing on your journey, no food, no bag, no money. Stay at houses & preach from town to town. Preach & heal people everywhere

▶️The Cost of Discipleship
🎺Luke 9:57-59 A man said he would follow Christ wherever He went & Christ said He had nowhere to sleep, indicating the mission goal. Another wanted to bury his father & another wanted to say bye to his family first

▶️Cant serve God & money
🎺Matthew 6:24 "No one can serve 2 masters. You cannot serve both God & money"

▶️People quote these verses:
🎺Proverbs 10:4 "He who has a slack hand becomes poor, But the hand of the diligent makes rich"
🎺Proverbs 10:22 "The blessing of the Lord makes one rich, and He adds no sorrow with it"
🎺1 Timothy 5:8 Anyone who does not provide for their relatives has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever"
🎺Proverbs 11:30 "The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, & he who wins souls is wise"

▶️Summary: Providing is subjective
👉Those are great proverbs but Christ said "Follow Me", not Solomon. That's why Solomon wrote the book of Ecclesiastes to combat his thoughts on Proverbs: "All is vanity" & was worthless to build wealth on Earth
👉Providing can be getting food stamps & buying a cheap house or going to the food bank. Being wise with saving money & not having the "lust of the eyes & the flesh"
👉Providing is subjective. Ravens provided for Elijah from the table of the enemy
