Unlatching a Sleeping Baby with Gentle Breast Compression ||

In this video, I share a gentle technique for unlatching my toddler, Spencer, when he falls asleep at the breast during naptime or bedtime feeds. I show how to carefully compress breast tissue and flatten the nipple to ease it out of his mouth without waking him. Transferring him to a cot or bassinet is a delicate process, and I demonstrate the slow, careful steps to position him safely and comfortably for sleep. While Spencer can self-settle and doesn’t rely on nursing to fall asleep, this method works well when he dozes off during a feed.
