Snode AD80 All Metal Dumbbells

Material wise, the Snode AD80's are built mostly out of metal so they're built to last.

As far as safety goes, these dumbbells have a safety mechanism that prevents them from unlocking when they're not in the base.

First safety mechanism is the base/cradle...

The base has a set of metal pieces that go into the dumbbell to unlock the dial.

So if the dumbbell is not on the base, the dial will not turn. It is locked when off the base.

Second locking mechanism happens among the plates.

Each plate has a dove tail and groove design that interlocks them like puzzle pieces.

So the weight plates connect and support each other while they're off the base.

And third is the aluminum rod that goes through each plate.

The only way the plates can move is by sliding them up while on the base.

When off the base, the metal rod that goes through the middle of each plate prevents this vertical motion so they can't disconnect off each other.
