💥💥💥 2025.06.23 Retired Marine Col. Grant Newsham：The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has also been observing Taiwan, initially believing that the Americans might not be that serious. However, this action against Iran has raised some doubts in China's calculations regarding Taiwan. At the start of the Ukraine war, the CCP was certainly transporting supplies to Russia, and the government remained silent about it.

The CCP has been Iran's main backer for decades, including providing substantial funds and weapons, which Iran has supplied to Hezbollah, Hamas, and the Houthis. Now, China purchases 90% of Iran's oil, accounting for approximately 20% of Iran's GDP. The extent of the CCP's support for Iran, and its use of Iran as a proxy to attack U.S. allies in the region and create chaos, is the real key issue.

They might say to only allow Chinese ships to pass, as they have done with the Houthis in the Red Sea, which is a possibility. However, closing the Strait of Hormuz is actually more difficult than it seems. I'm also not so sure that Russia or CCP really minds all that much if Iran possesses nuclear weapons. Look, they have allowed Pakistan to have them, and North Korea as well, both developed with Chinese assistance, and Russia has played a role in both cases too.
