Can You Trust Statistics You Find Online?

Google is a tool that should be used for good, for information.

Same with ChatGPT, and Gemini, and… well, whatever nonsense Microsoft has.

(Bing!)

The problem is: there’s so much garbage out there, you can “verify” anything you want to.

It doesn’t matter how outlandish the claim, you can find websites, “news” outlets, and Twitter accounts that will have your back.

That’s only tangentially what this video is about, however.

This video is mainly an excuse to make a joke about statistics about divorce that I stumbled across when trying to write a different joke.

Seriously, how does this happen?
