Deuteronomy 23 - Vows are voluntarily made, but once made become a sacred obligation. 2023

“When you make a vow to the LORD your God, you shall not delay to pay it, for it would be sin in you, and the LORD your God will surely require it of you.

Vows are voluntarily made, but once made become a sacred obligation. Elohim promised His eternal faithfulness to Israel and demanded complete obedience.

The difficulty in this chapter is determining what is meant by "the assembly of Yahweh." It does NOT mean that one can no longer be a part of the nation of Israel. It does not mean they cannot worship Elohim. It is referring to participating in the gatherings of all the males three times a year (Deut. 16:16). There are other laws in this chapter concerning usury, eating from your neighbors vineyard, and general sanitation. The Torah is WAY ahead of it's time! Join us and see if you don't agree!
