Multiple sources have told news outlets that Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez got married in the United States, signing a multimillion-dollar prenuptial agreement before their lavish ceremony in Venice.

The couple, who are celebrating their lavish three-day, $10 million wedding in Venice, have not filed for a civil marriage license. Sources say they have legally tied the knot ahead of their wedding ceremony, which will take place on Friday, July 27, on the island of San Giorgio Maggiore.

A prominent Florida attorney said that most of the time, marriages in a foreign country are not valid in the United States or cause problems, so yes, they were probably married before.

Another Italian source also confirmed that the couple were legally married before the actual ceremony.

City officials told reporters the couple had not filed for a civil marriage in Venice, which is required under Italian law.

Meanwhile, three prominent divorce lawyers have said they are aware of the signing of a huge prenuptial agreement between Bezos and Sanchez. "They can get married anywhere because their agreement is written in a way that is enforceable anywhere," one lawyer said.
