Satire vs Artificial Intelligence | Is Sarcasm & Irony Being ‘Weaponized’ Against A.I. Analytics?

Continuing the discussion of how art movements like Dadaism & joke religions such as “Discordianism” or “Church of the Subgenius” are influencing the current political environment in America…I’ve been wondering, mostly to myself, but occasionally in articles…

How does Artificial Intellgence interpret Irony & Sarcasm?

Let’s take it a step further…how is A.I. interpreting contradictory statements that are ‘very inflammatory’ to a ‘search engine’ but to a ‘human brain’ should immediately register as ‘sarcasm’?

For example…people frequently say things flippantly that when translated only in text can be easily misinterpreted as more extreme than intended…

Did you ever pass through a town that tank to high hell & say something like “wow…this place smells awful…someone needs to level all this shit & start over!”

I used to work in Longview, Washington…trust me…if you ever entered that town, daily, thoughts like this would float through your mind even if you don’t really ‘mean it’…no of course I wouldn’t level the nice people of Longview…I was just flabbergasted by how anyone could tolerate such a stench…then I proceeded to spend all day, in that stench, working for several hours before returning to my perfectly nice smelling hometown of Portland, Oregon…yes…I commuted that far

Point is, what will happen when AI starts to get even creepier and more invasive than it is now? We used to scoff at the futuristic intrusiveness represented in Phillip K Dick’s Minority Report…translated reasonably decent by Spielberg who I’m not a fan of, but the film can show you some of what Dick was warning about.

What’s going to happen when machine learning alone is trying to interpret sarcasm & irony? What was a statement said out of absurd frustration vs a serious threat or provocation?

Tonight I’m mostly focusing on Dadaist humor & expanding the discussion on what role it’s playing to both help & how it’s being used by the clever Psychological Warfare Warriors to misdirect both us in America & foreign nations…because frequently they weaponize sarcasm to make us all look bad…now why would the Mockingbird Media want to do ‘that’?
