Embracing The Awkward

When do we get to the place in our life when we realize something is awkward and then we completely stop doing it?  Think of children....they love to learn and grow and take risks and expand themselves.  It is kinda a bummer when all the societal norms and family rules come in and stop the awkward and make them behave and be nice and don't look silly. The hushes and control stops the awkward (but obvious) questions they ask, stop them from trying to do a cartwheel like their sibling and look so funny, etc.
Jesus had his disciples do the awkward.  They went out 2 by 2 to preach and heal.  Think they felt awkward?  I would say yes, especially at first!  In today's podcast we talk about giving yourself permission (within reason) to be awkward...try new things, expand our horizons and thought patterns.  Being like little children can be a good thing for the body, mind and spirit.  Who is with me?  What are you going to do that is awkward today but you are going to do it anyway?
