Through the Bible in 7 Hours Session V

Good morning. Today we are on Session number 5 of Through the Bible in 7 hours. We are happy to have you here with us today! Last week we discussed the different dispensations to include: Time past, But now and Ages to come. Now all of that has to do with how we need to look at the Bible and study it. So let’s focus today on time past and the goal of prophesy.

Now, let’s turn to Luke 1:70 and Acts 3:21,24

[Luk 1:70 KJV] 70 As he spake by the mouth of his holy prophets, which have been since the world began:

[Act 3:21, 24 KJV] 21 Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began. ... 24 Yea, and all the prophets from Samuel and those that follow after, as many as have spoken, have likewise foretold of these days.

Now turn with me to Romans 16:25, Ephesians 3:9 and Colossians 1:25-27

[Rom 16:25 KJV] 25 Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began,

[Eph 3:9 KJV] 9 And to make all [men] see what [is] the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:

[Col 1:25-27 KJV] 25 Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God; 26 [Even] the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints: 27 To whom God would make known what [is] the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:

There is a difference between these groups of scripture, do you know what it is? Can you see it? In the first set of scriptures, it is talking of the prophets. The prophets were sent by God to preach what was going to happen, what was to come. The latter scripture is telling us that the gospel was a mystery that was kept hidden from the beginning of time. “spoken by the mouth of all God’s holy prophets since the world began” and that which was “kept secret since the world began”. These are not the same gospels. There is a distinct difference between the two. Right now, let’s focus on the prophecy portion of this, also known as “time past”.

It is very important to look at the Bible and read it for what it says and what it means. It makes very distinct differences in things and we need to be aware of that. In Genesis 1:1 it says that God created the heaven and the earth. Notice it doesn’t say he created the universe in this verse. He is separating heaven and earth for a purpose. He had a plan for the earth and it was quite different from his plan concerning heaven. In 2 Peter 1:16-19 it says [2Pe 1:16-19 KJV] 16 For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty. 17 For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. 18 And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount. 19 We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts: This is the PROPHESY concerning Christ’s reign upon the earth. His pupose concerning heaven and our exaltation there is with Christ and of the subject of “the mystery” [Eph 2:4-10 KJV] 4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, 5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) 6 And hath raised [us] up together, and made [us] sit together in heavenly [places] in Christ Jesus: 7 That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in [his] kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. 8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: [it is] the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

No get with me in Romans 1.

[Rom 1:24-32 KJV] 24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: 25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. 26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: 27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. 28 And even as they did not like to retain God in [their] knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; 29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, 30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: 32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

This is demonstrating that the Gentile’s alienation was their own doing. Paul is showing us the sad rebellion and evil thinking and self will that resulted in the three-fold declaration. Wherefore God gave them up, v 24, for this cause God gave them up, v 26, and God gave them over, v 28.

Now this happened in Genesis 11. Do you know what happened in Gen 11? The Tower of Babel happened. This is when the people tried to build a tower to reach heaven and God took the people, gave them new languages and scattered them amongst the earth. Now this wasn’t all bad because out of all of this, God was able to find Abram. What came from Abram? Well, the 12 tribes of Israel. [Gen 12:1-3 KJV] 1 Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee: 2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: 3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.

And there it is, the current day controversial verse.

God will bless the house of Abram. The house of Israel. It says that God will bless those that bless Abram. Well what does he go on to say at the end of this verse? He says “and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed. So, in him, all families of the earth be blessed. Basically what God is saying is that if you become one of the members of the family, if you believe what he believes, or blesses him, you will then be blessed. If you don’t discount what he says or you don’t discard him and his family, you will be blessed. this is NOT talking about the country called Israel. This is talking about the 12 tribes. It is talking about a certain people and not a piece of land that is run by heretics and rapists and child diddlers. This is talking about God’s chosen people. The country was created in 1948. God was talking about the people who were chosen by Him when he chose Abram and his children.

[Gen 17:4-14 KJV] 4 As for me, behold, my covenant [is] with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations. 5 Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee. 6 And I will make thee exceeding fruitful, and I will make nations of thee, and kings shall come out of thee. 7 And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee. 8 And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God. 9 And God said unto Abraham, Thou shalt keep my covenant therefore, thou, and thy seed after thee in their generations. 10 This [is] my covenant, which ye shall keep, between me and you and thy seed after thee; Every man child among you shall be circumcised. 11 And ye shall circumcise the flesh of your foreskin; and it shall be a token of the covenant betwixt me and you. 12 And he that is eight days old shall be circumcised among you, every man child in your generations, he that is born in the house, or bought with money of any stranger, which [is] not of thy seed. 13 He that is born in thy house, and he that is bought with thy money, must needs be circumcised: and my covenant shall be in your flesh for an everlasting covenant. 14 And the uncircumcised man child whose flesh of his foreskin is not circumcised, that soul shall be cut off from his people; he hath broken my covenant.

This was the covenant God made with Abraham about his plan for the Jews. This was His covenant with His chosen people that he was going to keep separate from the Gentiles. This is the middle wall of partition that you hear some preachers talk about. This is one of those distinctions that is very important to understand. There are now two people in the world. there is the circumcision and the uncircumcision.

[Act 7:8 KJV] 8 And he gave him the covenant of circumcision: and so [Abraham] begat Isaac, and circumcised him the eighth day; and Isaac [begat] Jacob; and Jacob [begat] the twelve patriarchs.

[Gal 3:19 KJV] 19 Wherefore then [serveth] the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; [and it was] ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator.

When God gave the Law to the nation of Israel, it was added to the covenant of the circumcision and strengthened and fortified the middle wall of partition.

[Deu 4:5-8 KJV] 5 Behold, I have taught you statutes and judgments, even as the LORD my God commanded me, that ye should do so in the land whither ye go to possess it. 6 Keep therefore and do [them]; for this [is] your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the nations, which shall hear all these statutes, and say, Surely this great nation [is] a wise and understanding people. 7 For what nation [is there so] great, who [hath] God [so] nigh unto them, as the LORD our God [is] in all [things that] we call upon him [for]? 8 And what nation [is there so] great, that hath statutes and judgments [so] righteous as all this law, which I set before you this day?

[Lev 20:22-23 KJV] 22 Ye shall therefore keep all my statutes, and all my judgments, and do them: that the land, whither I bring you to dwell therein, spue you not out. 23 And ye shall not walk in the manners of the nation, which I cast out before you: for they committed all these things, and therefore I abhorred them.

This is just proof of the law and statutes that God has made with the nation of Israel. He has put them above all other nations. They must live under his law and follow the works that have been designed for them. Now God had an agency in the earth through which He would accomplish his purpose and plan of making Jesus Christ ruler of the earth He created. The nation of Israel was created to be God’s earthly kingdom people. Thus, it would be through this favored nation that God would bless all the nations of the earth. The nation of Israel was to be his channel of blessing for all the other nations.

In “time past”, Gentile salvation came through the nation Israel. there were two doors available to Gentiles who came to recognize their gods were false and that Israel had the one true and living God.

A gentile could become a proselyte.

[Est 8:17 KJV] 17 And in every province, and in every city, whithersoever the king's commandment and his decree came, the Jews had joy and gladness, a feast and a good day. And many of the people of the land became Jews; for the fear of the Jews fell upon them.

[Exo 12:48 KJV] 48 And when a stranger shall sojourn with thee, and will keep the passover to the LORD, let all his males be circumcised, and then let him come near and keep it; and he shall be as one that is born in the land: for no uncircumcised person shall eat thereof.

Or a gentile could put himself in the place of blessing by blessing Israel

[1Ki 17:10-16 KJV] 10 So he arose and went to Zarephath. And when he came to the gate of the city, behold, the widow woman [was] there gathering of sticks: and he called to her, and said, Fetch me, I pray thee, a little water in a vessel, that I may drink. 11 And as she was going to fetch [it], he called to her, and said, Bring me, I pray thee, a morsel of bread in thine hand. 12 And she said, [As] the LORD thy God liveth, I have not a cake, but an handful of meal in a barrel, and a little oil in a cruse: and, behold, I [am] gathering two sticks, that I may go in and dress it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die. 13 And Elijah said unto her, Fear not; go [and] do as thou hast said: but make me thereof a little cake first, and bring [it] unto me, and after make for thee and for thy son. 14 For thus saith the LORD God of Israel, The barrel of meal shall not waste, neither shall the cruse of oil fail, until the day [that] the LORD sendeth rain upon the earth. 15 And she went and did according to the saying of Elijah: and she, and he, and her house, did eat [many] days. 16 [And] the barrel of meal wasted not, neither did the cruse of oil fail, according to the word of the LORD, which he spake by Elijah.

[2Ki 5:15-18 KJV] 15 And he returned to the man of God, he and all his company, and came, and stood before him: and he said, Behold, now I know that [there is] no God in all the earth, but in Israel: now therefore, I pray thee, take a blessing of thy servant. 16 But he said, [As] the LORD liveth, before whom I stand, I will receive none. And he urged him to take [it]; but he refused. 17 And Naaman said, Shall there not then, I pray thee, be given to thy servant two mules' burden of earth? for thy servant will henceforth offer neither burnt offering nor sacrifice unto other gods, but unto the LORD. 18 In this thing the LORD pardon thy servant, [that] when my master goeth into the house of Rimmon to worship there, and he leaneth on my hand, and I bow myself in the house of Rimmon: when I bow down myself in the house of Rimmon, the LORD pardon thy servant in this thing.

God Chose the Nation Israel as his earthly nation/ agency.

God gave the Nation Israel the Law.

Gentile salvation was available only through the Nation Israel.
