Kolkata Law Student Gang-Raped Inside Campus: Shocking Details.

A 24-year-old first-year student of South Calcutta Law College has alleged that she was gang-raped on campus by a former student and two seniors on June 25. The main accused, Monojit Mishra, a practising criminal lawyer with alleged links to the Trinamool Congress (TMC), reportedly raped her inside the guard’s room while the others stood guard. The woman was allegedly tortured for over three hours, hit with a hockey stick, and filmed during the assault.
The case has ignited a political storm in West Bengal, with opposition parties demanding action and slamming the ruling TMC for protecting criminals. The National Commission for Women (NCW) has taken suo motu cognisance and is meeting the victim’s family.
The Kolkata Police has confirmed evidence of forceful penetration, bite marks, and scratch injuries on the woman’s body. All four accused, including a college security guard, have been arrested and are in police custody till July 1.
This case draws chilling parallels with the 2024 rape and murder of a medical intern at RG Kar Hospital, exposing recurring patterns of violence, power misuse, and institutional failure.
