I will be covering the Big Beautiful Bill passed this morning by the US Senate, as well as other top stories in and around Oregon.
On Friday, the Oregon Legislature passed SB 243, which will impose restrictions on the sale or transfer of rapid-fire activators.
Prohibits anyone from possessing, purchasing, receiving, transporting, manufacturing, selling, offering to sell, or transferring a rapid fire activator – a Class B felony; possession is a Class A misdemeanor, with an exemption for those registered under federal law for machine guns. The bill allows local governments to pass ordinances restricting carry in public buildings by posting a sign on the door.
