1 Samuel 24:1-25:13, Let the Lord Judge between You and Me

in my hand, and I have not sinned against you... Let the Lord judge between you and me, and let the Lord avenge me on you. But my hand shall not be against you” (1 Samuel 24:11-12 NKJV). Temporarily repentant, King Saul calls off his pursuit and returns home. David moves to the Wilderness of Paran and seeks provisions from Nabal, a rich man, whose flocks and herds David’s men had protected for many months. When Nabal rudely rebuffs him, David gathers his men and prepares to take vengeance on Nabal.
Even though Samuel had appointed David as the next king, David knows that the same God Who made Saul king must be the One to remove him from the throne. May our attitudes in all things – including geopolitics, mirror David’s humble trust in God’s sovereign timing.
Maranatha!
