Mexican Cartel Hackers Used FBI Agent’s Phone & Public Cameras To Track Down Informants

A Mexican cartel hacker working for the notorious Sinaloa cartel, once led by Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán, reportedly breached the phone of an FBI assistant legal attaché at the U.S. Embassy in Mexico City, gaining access to sensitive information. According to a startling new report, the hacker used the agent’s phone records and public surveillance cameras to track, intimidate, and in some cases kill government informants.
