Conversational Klingon is an audio program created by Marc Okrand, the creator of the Klingon language, designed to teach individuals to speak authentic Klingon. It includes words, phrases, pronunciations, and customs for various situations, such as proper voice inflection, key Klingon words for emergencies, and sample conversations between Klingons.
The program was released in 1992, with a CD version appearing later before 1995.
In 1994, the Klingon language was already established and used in various Star Trek productions, including Star Trek: The Next Generation and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.
The language was also featured in other media, such as the play A Klingon Christmas Carol and the opera ʼuʼ.
