1973: Dr. Donald Omand’s Loch Ness Exorcism

In 1973, Dr. Donald Omand, an Anglican priest from Dorset, went to Scotland to perform an exorcism of the loch itself.

Omand believed that Nessie was a manifestation of evil forces at work.

According to him, this presence was responsible for nefarious behaviour in the region, contributing to alcoholism, the breakdown of marriages, and general moral decay.

Determined to rid Loch Ness of this dark influence, Dr. Omand boarded a boat and, armed with holy water and prayers, performed an exorcism upon the loch.
