This is the year!

“This is the year… this is the year.”

That’s what Zane kept saying as he stood at the top of the zip line platform at Whispering Ponies Ranch. For three years, Zane has come to camp with one goal on his heart — to ride the zip line.

In 2022, he climbed all the way up, sat on the edge… and couldn’t bring himself to take the leap.

In 2023, same thing — he made it to the platform, spent nearly 20 minutes working up the courage, but couldn’t do it.

2024? He was ready. He told everyone, “This is the year.” But due to insurance issues, we had to take our camp to a neighboring campground that didn't have the same amenities.

So 2025 became his last shot — his final summer at camp before aging out of the program.

Today… he did it!

Zane climbed the tower, clipped in, and with every eye watching — he went down the zip line, breaking through years of fear and building a confidence that will go far beyond camp.

These are the moments that make Whispering Ponies Ranch more than a camp — it's a place where kids discover courage they didn’t know they had.
