I'm reflecting on the passing of Jim Shooter, a comic book legend who died at 73. He was Marvel's Editor-in-Chief from 1978 to 1987, overseeing incredible runs like Chris Claremont and John Byrne's Uncanny X-Men, Frank Miller's Daredevil, and the groundbreaking Secret Wars crossover he wrote himself. The man started at DC Comics at just 13, writing for Legion of Super-Heroes and Superman, which is pretty wild stuff. He also co-founded Valiant Comics, creating characters I've got in my collection.
