Unity, At What Cost?

A recent conversation between media personalities Piers Morgan and Glenn Beck caught our eye. In their discussion about the criticisms being lobbed against President Trump and his decision to bomb Iran, they took a tangent and spoke about the need for unity. Beck, in his typical apocalyptic, ecumenically ambiguous, sky is falling approach to issues, rambled about the need for everyone to compromise and meet in the middle for the sake of civilizational survival, intimating that anyone who isn't willing to do so is contributing to the downfall. That begs the questions: Should Christians, who are called to be uncompromising on the truth of the Christ, the Gospel and His commandments, be willing to "give a little" for the sake of "unity"? What does this unity that will bring peace look like? Is this unity more of a Trojan Horse than actual cure to society's ills? A lot to unpack on this episode...
