Welcome to album ranking Wednesdays here on the channel and tonight we are going deep into the underground once again Norway for a look at one of the pioneering bands of DSBM and some will argue this, but if you listen to this band you will see that all the elements are there and could be cited as Proto-DSBM for certain.

Tonight I am doing a ranking of Forgotten Woods. Now the band hails from Norway and formed back in the early 90s and for some reason were very overlooked during the surge of Norwegian Black Metal which to me remains a mystery as to why.

They are without a doubt one of the best 90s black metal bands of all time and all the melancholic dark atmosphere of Bethlehem, STRID and Burzum can be found here which is exactly why I credit them as one of the pioneers of DSBM. Argue all you want, my mind isn’t changing.

Now as usual im only ranking full lengths on this episode because the band has released demos and 1 split and an EP that would reappear on the compilation album so theres no real need to go through demos or splits.
