Scene: “Run to the Hills” — Campfire at Dusk
Wide shot: A silent plain under a burning orange sky. A film set. Real horses in the background. The camera crew has packed up. Only three remain by the fire:

Jake Sully – the visionary director

Trevor Carpenter – method actor, immersed in Sitting Bull’s spirit

Chris Armstrong – wrestling with the legacy of Custer

Jake Sully (lighting a pipe, voice calm but sharp):
This ain’t just a movie, boys.
This is a reckoning.
We’re not here to polish myths — we’re here to set souls free.

(He looks at Chris Armstrong, who stares into the fire.)

Jake Sully:
Mr. Armstrong, I need you to let go of the hero act.
You’re playing General Custer, not Captain America.
The man lost the battle — and maybe, he deserved to.

Chris Armstrong (reluctant):
But if we show Custer as reckless, arrogant…
People will hate him.

Jake Sully (nodding):
Good. They should.
Truth ain’t about likability.
It’s about legacy.

(He turns to Trevor, who has braided his hair in Lakota style, his face painted for ceremony.)

Jake Sully (to Trevor):
Trevor, you don’t need to act Sitting Bull.
You’re carrying his voice now. You’ve earned that burden.

Trevor Carpenter (measured, wise):
Custer was a storm. I am the mountain.
He came and went.
We remain.

(Jake pulls out a small speaker. A beat of silence. Then — the first chords of Iron Maiden’s “Run to the Hills” blast into the open night. The gallop. The scream.)

🎵 “White man came across the sea, he brought us pain and misery…” 🎵

Jake Sully (standing, raising his fist to the sky):
That’s our anthem.
Not some orchestral apology. Not some John Wayne fanfare.
Iron Maiden told it straight:
“Run for your lives.”

(Chris stands slowly. The fire reflects in his eyes. He finally understands.)

Chris Armstrong (softly):
Then I’ll play him as he was.
No lies. No glory. Just truth.
And I’ll take my beating like a man.

(Trevor walks over, puts a hand on Chris’s shoulder.)

Trevor Carpenter:
Then we ride together.
Into history — the real one.
