Theodor Eicke was a high-ranking SS officer, best known as the first commandant of the Dachau concentration camp and a key figure in shaping the Nazi concentration camp system. As head of the SS-Totenkopfverbände (Death's Head Units), he played a central role in enforcing brutal discipline and ideological indoctrination. Later, he commanded the SS Division Totenkopf on the Eastern Front during WWII. Fanatically loyal to Hitler, Eicke embodied the ruthless and ideological core of the SS. He was killed in action in 1943 during the Third Battle of Kharkov.
