In this quick tutorial, I’ll show you how to fix a common issue in Linux Mint where double-clicking a .txt file or other plain text file asks to “Run in Terminal” instead of simply opening it in a text editor like Xed.
This happens due to executable permissions being set on the text file. I’ll walk you through how to easily change the file properties or adjust default behavior in Nemo file manager so text files open normally.
