Standing on Ancient and Apostolic Beliefs…
We have been speaking about the last chapters of Genesis that shadow… the ‘Millennial’ Kingdom of the Messiah coming after the Last Days’ Great Tribulation to this then-to-be restored Realm’s heaven and Earth, typed in the story of Joseph and his brothers. Who, now after their great trials, are united together, in that their brother Joseph has given them the fertile land of Goshen in Egypt while he rules over all Egypt. The 6 days of Re-creation capped by the 7th day of rest, along with the entire Book of Genesis, have been building (in type) towards this marvelous prophetic Kingdom restoration understanding centered around the future Promised Seed of a woman, seen in Genesis 3:15. Here, it is prophesied that when Jesus first came, He would be bruised by satan, but ultimately at His Second Coming, would crush satan’s usurped authority taken from God’s appointed rulers, Adam and Eve, in this Realm and then set up His theocratic government for a thousand years. Revelation 20:1-6… “Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, having the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. He laid hold of the dragon, that serpent of old, who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years; and he cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal on him, so that he should deceive the nations no more till the thousand years were finished. But after these things he must be released for a little while. And I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was committed to them. Then I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their witness to Jesus and for the word of God, who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received his mark on their foreheads or on their hands. And they lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. But the rest of the dead did not live again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years.”

According to Pre-millennialism, which is the historically recorded understanding of our ‘Church fathers,’ Jesus is Coming the second time to establish His Millennial Kingdom, and that being only after the Last Days’ great 7-year tribulation, wherein the Antichrist, at the middle of that period, would rise and rule over the Earth for 3 ½ years. And then Jesus would remove the faithful living off the Earth and resurrect the faithful dead out of Hades (Hades being the intermediate place of the dead as believed by all the early church forefathers and all the 1st century followers of Christ… this understanding being nothing controversial before the leavening of the Church throughout time) in the First Resurrection, up into the ‘air’ (the first heaven), after which shortly He, along with His now heavenly Consort, would come down to the Earth, slay the Anti-Christ, and forcefully remove satan from ruling in this Realm, chaining and casting him and his minions into Hades’ Pit. Jesus, in His victorious glory, then judges the Nations, restores the Jews to their promised land Israel, and builds the last Temple prophesied by and described by Ezekiel in Ezekiel Chapters 40-48. All these things have been understood, since the Apostles, that Jesus, after the Last Days’ great tribulation, will establish His Millennial Kingdom in this Realm’s heaven and earth. Which is to be followed by a short season of satan being unchained, which ends with his then being cast into the Lake of Fire eternally. Then the resurrection of the remaining dead in Hades are to be judged. Then comes the passing away of the current heaven and Earth, and then comes a New heaven and Earth… it’s the dawn of the 8th day (Shemini Atzeret). So there is nothing new here… we share these understandings and beliefs with the Apostles and with the majority of the Church forefathers of the first and second Century.

As we have pointed out before, this is what the majority of the Church forefathers for 300 years after Christ’s Crucifixion believed (which includes Justin Martyr, Irenaeus, Tertullian, Hippolytus, and others… as well as in ancient Jewish writings, which were written well before the First Coming of the Messiah, and by many renowned sages after… naturally, without any New Testament influences....
