Police are investigating the murder of a 34-year-old woman who was found dead in a drain in Enterprise, Chaguanas on Thursday night.
Around 7.45 pm, officers responded to a report and went to Gibbs Trace Extension, where they found the motionless body of a woman dressed in grey jeans and a purple T-shirt lying in a concrete drain on the northern side of the street.
She appeared to have been shot in the upper left side of her back.
The District Medical Officer visited the scene, pronounced her dead, and ordered that the body be taken to the Forensic Science Centre for a post-mortem.
The woman was later identified as Valene Vanessa Campbell of College Road, El Dorado.
